Suggestion: add a year to the date stamp in the thread titles.

Because some boards (mages collegium, outside of valdemar, etc) easily go more than an in-game year with no threads, and when you go looking there it would be nice to tell at a glance if a thread happened this spring, or last spring, or five years ago (I'm assuming this board will still be here in four years... )

Well, the only thing I can see about stamping a year on a thread is so that a player can start retro posting or maybe bouncing into the future (Fore posting?). I think it is hard enough to keep up with people that have several threads going with the same character and just different days. I try to keep things simple, less confusing that way.
Just my opinion.

The date stamp that shows when the last post in a thread was posted should be enough to tell us which in-game year was posted. If you keep in mind that we generally try to stick to RL seasons around here, it shouldn't be too hard to tell that if there are two threads that say 'Sp' in their title, and one's last post was in '06 and one was in '05, we can safely assume that the posts weren't in this game-year's Spring.
I'd prefer that the forum used a 'universal timestamp,' where the mods can say, "From May __ to May ___, we will be in Spring Week __." And since there are generally at least two mods around, we would be able to get a general feel for when things are wrapping up in that week, and then vote to move on. *shrug*

Unfortuantely though Jami limiting the threads to within a certain RL parameter is very hard to realistically do and not run folks off because they aren't online daily.
I've considered making an archives area though and that might come into play in the future, where we can move all of the really old threads into Archives and out of the main boards so they are not cluttering up IC playing so much but are still accessible.

Well, like I said.. If the universal thing was in play, the mods would keep their eyes peeled for when things seemed to be closing up, so we could move on to the next week. That way even if people couldn't be online very often, we'd still be aware that there were threads at loose ends, etc.
At any rate, I think the timestamps we have right now are complicated enough without adding more to them.

Have we got unofficial posting order rules, or no?

Not specifically, sometimes a player with a teacher will specify an order but it's done at the outset of the thread and only applies to that thread. Mostly we just try not to run over top of others too much.
Like if you are in a thread with 3 or more players and 2 of the characters are having what in RL would be a rapid fire back and forth spate of things to say then the 2 posting without waiting for the other players would be acceptable as long as when a natural pause in the conversation came up the 2 players would then pause to allow for the other players to reply too.
Or if you see you've gone 5 or 6 posts each without the other players having a chance to reply then you should try to pause and let others catch up, even if the whole RL time elapsed is only a hour or two. (I've seen this in larger groups, not been a problem so much here though.)
Because as mentioned before not everyone is online a lot and we have to make some allowances for them too. If you know you need to have an in-depth conversation with just one other character I recommend making the thread closed. Meaning that you list who can join in the first post because you know you are looking for a particular situation to happen.

you know I reread your question and my answer, and the short of it is
No, there is not an unofficial posting order (unless the teachers player decides on one at the outset of a class thread)
BUT
Yes there is a posting ettiquette, but only in so far as you don't leave the other players way behind and you follow what most would consider common courtesy rules.

I was just wondering whether the forum is "liquid rp enabled"? I mean, can we rp in different threads with the same char at the same time? or do we have to finsh one thread before we join/start a new one?

Threads are all dated. As long as your character isn't in two places at once according to the in game date and time, you can be posting in more than one thread at once.

Carla is correct Lorien. Thank you for asking though, not everyone does before then end up in 'hot water' rules wise

ATTENTION ALL!!
This is an FYI post...
There are changes to the Rules in the works, these will affect Persona Applications and Gifts, possibly some other minor things.
Hopefully we'll get these changes implemented with little fuss, and they will not affect current applications, but they may affect any applications made AFTER today!!!
So please keep this in mind if you want to start a new character soon, it might be best to wait for the new rules, or please don't be surpised when you throw something at you that you 'didn't know' because it's new and not posted yet.
