She and her 8 year old daughter Miriam were Gated to a barren island far out to sea where no leylines ran and life was scarce, all so that Andonal, a Master Mage himself, could take over the small, but wealthy, territory that Presara goverened.
Trapped on the isle for these past ten years Presara and Miriam have thrived with the help of a poor mishapen female by the name of Caldina. Additionally a spirit from the Elemental Planes, Arina, was trapped upon the island by a Blood Adept some 30 years prior to Presara's arrival, she now serves this Adept, the other since having died, in hopes to one day be returned to her rightful realm.
Over time Caldina, alos having been a victim of the Blood Mage, became jealous of Miriam's beauty and tried to kill her, prompting Presara to enslave the wretch to prevent future mischief. Now Caldina hates them both and only her magical bonds keep her pliant.
On the eve of Miram's 17th birthing day Presara had finally eked out enough stored power from the sparse life available, that she could draw her treacherous brother to her for a final showdown. She cast her spell, like a fisher casting a reel and waited patiently for the fish to bite. Now almost a year later, as Miriam's 18th birthing day draws nigh, the fish has finally taken the bait.
((OOC: This is just the start, I'll summarize the action in another post. This is loosely adapted from The Tempest by Shakespeare, I claim no credit for the original idea ))
